- MORE INFO -

WHAT IS CEMENTO NON CEMENTO?

Cemento Non Cemento are concrete free innovative materials, zero emission, made of fibers and natural elements, provided in solid state in panels very similar to a cast-cement. The materials are in homogeneous mass with protective finishes on the surface.

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CEMENTO NON CEMENTO AND OTHER CONCRETE-LIKE PANELS IN THE MARKET?

Only Cemento Non Cemento materials are produced in a homogeneous mass with a high aesthetic level.  The performance of our panels requires no paint and no protection. In addition, the panels are ready to cut and paste, with no risk in the result thus no time or material loss. It’s charm and quality are unreachable by any other similar materials.

Unlike any other solution, Cemento Non Cemento allows for very simple machining, which can be carried out directly on site during cladding.  Our panels do not require any preparation of tailor-made pieces at the factory, thus avoiding the need to make millimeter measurements and the consequent risks of inaccuracies or unforeseen events such as wall irregularities or unique niches, because any problem can be solved locally with the use of common woodworking tools.

Machining our materials  for furniture or design objects is also easy to accomplish with normal woodworking techniques and tools. To eliminate risk of errors  means relevant cost savings.

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CEMENTO NON CEMENTO AND GRES OR CERAMIC AESTHETICALLY SIMILAR TO CEMENT?

Differently from Gres or Ceramica, Cemento Non Cemento are materials workable with ease using same tools as for wood, they accept self-threaded screw, nails, they can be worked in the mass, have a warm touch, are materials alive, acquireing more and more charm with age, they improve environmental acoustics, stabilizes the humidity level in the environment. None of these features can be found even in the best ceramics or gres in the market.

Cemento Non Cemento products are not an imitation but at the opposit are materials with their own strong identity, they are customizable with laser or pantograph and even printable by large format printers. With Cemento Non Cemento you can create objects, furniture, doors, complete furnishings, applying the same techniques of the carpenter, not possible to gres or ceramics. In wall cladding, Cemento Non Cemento gives the wall a look and a feeling immediately percepted of naturalness, allowing to live the wall for example handling pictures with normal nails. All of these perfomances are not in ceramic or gres.

WHAT IS DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CONCREO AND CONCLAD?

Both Concreo and Conclad are Cemento Non Cemento slabs. They both are very similar in appearance and different in their technical features s as in mass and finishing.

Conclad is a basic version of mass and finishing, specifically projected for wall cladding, easy to install and with a very high aesthetic presence. Concreo has a more compact mass and a high resistance to stain and humidity that makes it suitable in various uses, including the creation of variety of furniture, kitchens doors, countertops and bathrooms cabinets.

Both Concreo and Conclad have a fire reaction rating B-s1, d0 suitable also for public spaces.

WHAT IS DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CONCLAD AND CONCLAD Prêt-à-Porter?

Conclad Prêt-à-Porter is a Conclad special Collection of cut to size tiles ready to use.

Prêt-à-Porter is Conclad cut in standard sizes tiles with chamfered edges and molding holes. The tiles are "ready to use" and they can be applied to the wall in an easy way, almost as simple as hanging a painting. The tiles can also be ordered without chamfered edges and molding holes, in the same standard sizes or in specific measures for special projects.

HOW IS CEMENTO NON CEMENTO WORKABLE?

Cemento Non Cemento is workable with the same tools and techniques as for wood.

Comparing the machining of Cemento Non Cemento to MDF have some differences: the sheets are mono-faced and dust production during processing is a bit more abundant, however manageable with normal aspiration systems and have no toxic hazards, although it is prudent to prescribe the use of protective masks to prevent respiratory irritation always possible.

HOW TO DO WALL CLADDING WITH CEMENTO NON CEMENTO?

In case of regular walls with no moisture problems, not chalking, with a good grip for a glue, Cemento Non Cemento slabs can be applied even directly to the wall, possibly aided, for maintaining the precise position till a complete crosslinking of the adhesive, by some headless pins, even using a shoot-nails tool if properly calibrated in the power to prevent damages on the surface.

In case of problematic walls, for example in the presence of much moisture or irregular shape, Cemento Non Cemento slabs can be applied on support frames, creating a ventilated walls. Frames can be made of any material fitting with the wall situation, also evaluating fire reaction properties when the installation is in a context that requires non-flammability features. For the anchoring of slabs to the frame, as the self-tapping screws can be gripped, normal boiserie fastening systems can generally be used.

An effective and economical method is the use of common brace bars, applying one on the back of the plate, using self-tapping screws of consistent length to avoid piercing or dulling the surface of the panel and better if helped by using some Concreo Conclad Special glue Adhesive, and hanging the plate by fitting the bar to another upside down bar fixed in the wall.

Finally, if the Cemento Non Cemento is in contact with very wet floors it is necessary to keep them detached and the edges to be waterproofed to prevent the formation of moisture spots.

DOES CEMENTO NON CEMENTO HAVE STRUCTURAL FUNCTIONS?

No, Cemento Non Cemento  is to be used as a cladding material mainly.

Despite it is more elastic than traditional concrete, Cemento Non Cemento is a fragile material, which can not have any structural function. Exception for Concreo 17 mm which, with the same hardware for wood panels, can be used to create cabinet doors and drawcers without the need of additional structural supports. Also in the production of small objects which are not subject to particular mechanical stresses, such as lamps or ornaments, Cemento Non Cemento can be used without any support.

In case of doubt, please submit the projects to our Technical Department for a feasibility opinion. Designers and transformers are anyway in charge at the final evaluation, depending on the the product features as in data sheets and the techniques that will be used to work it.

WHAT IS THE WEAKNESS OF CEMENTO NON CEMENTO?

Concreo and Conclad slabs are not elastic so they cannot be bended. Also, pay attention, in case of use of adhesive tapes on the surface of the sheets, to remove them slowly avoiding possible damages to the surface protection.

Although they are more elastic than traditional concrete, Concreo and Conclad are materials that in such thin thickness can break in the handling of slabs in big size. Therefore, be careful not to bend them over a certain limit. Once supported, the material gains a good resistance and durability.

WHAT ARE THE CEMENTO NON CEMENTO STRENGTHS?

The main aspects of absolute excellence of Cemento Non Cemento are its beauty, its simplicity of use, its cast cement look, its reliability and the high customer satisfaction.

Cladding walls or creating objects with coated or cast concrete materials, achieving the same results in completely different geographic locations and in presence of different climatic conditions, without the need for a particularly well-trained workforce, are relevant novelties in the scenario of cement-like materials.

In addition, Concreo and Conclad are the only concrete-effect slabs in mass, so their yield and reliability over time is unmatched with any other product that over time loses the thin layer of cement coating which generally they are made of. Moreover, Cemento Non Cemento is the only cement-like material that can be used without any problem with numerical control machines because its powders do not contain any granules or hard fragments, at the contrary of any other panel containing concrete which generates damages in processing.

IS CEMENTO NON CEMENTO EXPENSIVE?

At the first appareance the cost per square meter might look higher than alternative products, even if none qualitatively can compare to Cemento Non Cemento, which is unique on the market in terms of features and performance. The simplicity and speed of use, the finishing and protection already done in the factory and the consequent reduction of the risk of error, always very expensive, the certainty in the final result make the product very interesting also by an economic point of view. There’s a relevant difference in cost per square meter between Concreo and Conclad cause Concreo has a compactness of the mass and a very effective stain treatment that allows it to be used also for kitchen or bathroom furnishings. To maintain a natural look we use high-quality zero-emission technologies, no nanotechnology, with an impact on costs which can be reduced in case of-wall cladding such as Conclad.

WHAT GLUE IS SUITABLE TO CEMENTO NON CEMENTO?

We recommend to choose the most suitable glue accordingly to conditions of use, final destination, and the material which the panels are to be adhered.

For stronger needs and when the glue is not uniformly spread over the entire surface, it is necessary to use Concreo Conclad Special Adhesive to prevent any aloons due to the glue applied in an uneven way.

IS CEMENTO NON CEMENTO SUITABLE OUTDOOR?

Cemento Non Cemento has an excellent resistance to temperature shocks but its surface is not treated to be directly exposed to the outdoors agents, thus only as a precaution, the external use is excluded, Having said that in our experience of some outdoor use protected from direct action of the weather agents, such as in covered terraces, Concreo proved to be very reliable.

IS CEMENTO NON CEMENTO SUITABLE FOR THE FLOOR?

Concreo's  performance on the floor could be comparable to  a wooden parquet, but while in a material such as wood  lines or dents can be perceived as a pleasant taste of life, in a cement material they would give a  negative  feeling,  not consistent with the hardness  of a concrete and therefore aesthetically unpleasant.

IS CEMENTO NON CEMENTO SUITABLE FOR KITCHEN OR BATHROOM COUNTERTOPS?

Yes, in its Concreo finishing. The excellent waterproof and stainproof features of Concreo make it suitable for kitchen and bathroom countertops, taking into consideration some warnings:

- Do not use sharp tools or knives straight on the material to avoid surface damages. If the protection should be damaged, use the Concreo Pigmented Base and Transparent Protection to fix it.

- In the parts in contact with water, such as in sink recessed edges, it is advised to isolate the backside and the edges using Concreo Transparent Protection and seal the joints with a common silicon.

- Avoid any contact with chemical liquids  like solvents,  varnishes or nail polishes or with aggressive cleaners like Chanteclair or similar.

- The material is not damaged by heat up to 160 degrees so, despite the excellent resistance, it is advised to avoid extended contact with hot pots or pans bottoms.

- Clean the surface using neutral cleaners, avoid rubbing with abrasive materials that could damage the protection.

IS CEMENTO NON CEMENTO SUITABLE FOR SINKS OR WASHBASINS?

Frequent impact with sharp objects in the long run could damage the waterproof and anti- stain protection. Although the material has no structural alteration in contact with water, such as swelling, the aesthetic could be affected by moisture spots from humidity, infiltrated by splits.

IS CEMENTO NON CEMENTO SUITABLE TO USE IN THE SHOWER?

Concreo doesn’t expand in volume when in contact with water and its surface is perfectly sealed so there won’t be any structural problems.  But for its use in the shower it is necessary to treat Concreo’s edges and back side with a waterproofing  sealer, to make the whole sheet impermeable. Installation must provide a gap between the sheets and between the shower trayof at least 1 mm, better with chamfered edges, and  create insulation by filling the gaps with a silicon paste suitable for use in showers. During this procedure, cover the Concreo surface to avoid the silicon sticking onto it. In case you use a tape as to protect the surface, remove it carefully and slowly, not to risk to rip off the surface protection at the end of the job.

HOW TO CLEAN CEMENTO NON CEMENTO ?

Cleaning advice is diversified between Concreo and Conclad.

Concreo has an excellent resistance to stains from substances of common use, even if the removal of the staining agents from the surface is prescribed as soon as possible. Cleaning should be carried out with non-aggressive neutral detergents. In case of accidental contact with aggressive substances or corrosive chemical agents such as alcohol, acetone or solvents, immediately remove the liquid by dabbing with a dry absorbent cloth without pressing or rubbing the surface to avoid removing the surface protection.

Conclad has a temporary protection against stain from common substances and therefore necessarily requires the immediate removal of the staining agent which has come into contact with the surface. For the removal of dirt it is necessary to use neutral detergents that are not aggressive and absolutely avoid rubbing on the surface to avoid damaging it. In some cases the use of the "magic eraser", a commonly used abrasive sponge, has proved to be effective, always avoiding exerting excessive pressure that could damage the protection.

HOW TO REPAIR CONCREO AND CONCLAD SURFACE DAMAGES?

For surface marks, typically due to soft rubbing that has not removed the protection, for Concreo you can use steel wool 0000 (4 zeros), exerting a slight rubbing to restore homogeneity to the surface, taking care not to insist too much in the same point to avoid damaging the surface protection. After this operation it is necessary to remove the wool residue with air or a soft cloth soaked in neutral detergent and, if necessary, pass quickly, without applying any pressure, a soft cloth slightly moistened in acetone, in order to apply a very thin veil to be evaporated instantly to attenuate halos on the surface.

For any deeper damage that has compromised the protection and altered the color, proceed for both Concreo and Conclad as described below, specifying that a good restoration technique can certainly limit the visibility of the damage but can hardly eliminate it completely. On the other hand, the typology of the material itself maintains an authentic aesthetic and a fascinating image even in the presence of a visible repair.

In the presence of a damage to the surface protection it is possible to operate by applying the typical restoration techniques of wood, with the use of stucco combined with pigments used in a consistent manner with the surrounding mottled surface, also using different shades of brush gray to create shades of color as similar as possible to the original material and kneading the Cemento Non Cemento powder with vinyl glue same way as with sawdust in case of wood repair. Once the mass is rebuilt and the most suitable color effect is created, fix the repair using the specific Concreo and Conclad sealer. Depending on the taste, it is possible to keep the damage very evident without repairing it, simply by applying the Pigmented Base and the sealer, both produced under the Concreo Conclad brand, leaving the material a pleasant chipped cement appearance, often even wanted by designers.

WHAT’S THE CEMENTO NON CEMENTO LIFESPAN?

Given the nature of the material, if no particular alterations due to accidental events occur, the aging of Cemento Non Cemento panels does not lead to structural alterations while, on the contrary, it can give the material a very pleasant old look.

IS CEMENTO NON CEMENTO HARMFUL FOR HEALTH?

No, at the contrary it contributes to make the environment healthier. Components of Cemento Non Cemento are all excluded from any list of hazardous substances. The emissions in the environment are without any toxicity and the nature of the material contributes to balance the humidity levels in the air, helping to make the environment healthier and more comfortable.

IF I CLAD WALLS WITH CEMENTO NON CEMENTO, WILL IT GET STAINED  WHEN I WASH THE FLOOR?

Yes. As with any concrete wall, if a plinth or a protection is not applied at the base it can over time create a halo if in contact with moisture. Pointing out that the type of coating could be aesthetically consistent with the presence of halos, the choice to protect or not the panel, for example by keeping it detached from the floor and / or treating it with a protective and waterproofing sealer and / or applying a plinth, remains complete discretion of the customer based on their personal aesthetic preferences.
